Elaine Terminal Station

The Elaine Terminal Station is located around 5km to the north of the small town of Elaine, Victoria. The Elaine Terminal Station was first established in 2011 to facilitate the connection of the Mt Mercer Wind Farm to the transmission network.

Following the initial development, two further wind farms have been connected through the Elaine Terminal station; Moorabool Wind Farm and Elaine Wind Farm. More than 500MW of renewable generation is now connected through Elaine Terminal Station.

Within the Elaine Terminal Station, various HV assets transform the voltage to 220kV and maintain electrical safety such that the wind farms can be connected to the main network. In addition to the station, AEO also owns and maintains around 30km of transmission lines that serve to connect the wind farms to the station. AEO operates all of this infrastructure on behalf of the wind farm companies.

Ararat Terminal Station

AEO designed, constructed, owns, and operates the Ararat Terminal Station, located 1.5 km north of the town of Elmhurst, Victoria.

The project was constructed in 2017 and enable the connection of 75 wind turbines, producing 242 MW of clean, renewable, and secure power for the national electricity grid.

In addition to the station, AEO also safely own and operate the 21 km of 132kV powerlines that link the wind farm to the station.
